A child is born this day,
God’s Word is now fulfilled.
The hope of all people is born:

The people in darkness
have seen a great light.
The Son of all justice
has come: rejoice and sing.

Joy of our longing,
fountain of love,
O wisdom of God.
Hope of creation,
Emmanuel,
God’s Holy Word.

O rise up in splendour,
our Saviour has come.
Rejoice in this new day,
for the Lord of new life is born.
