Where are you God?
Where can we find you?
Are you high above the mountains
or deep below the sea?
Where can we see you?
How can we know you?
Are you breath within creation and in me?
Where are you God?
Is it you within the wind that blows in realms beyond our reach?
Is it you we hear when breaking waves are crashing on the beach?
Is it you we see in sunlight that shimmers on the sea?
Is it you who are these wondrous things in nature and in me?
Is it you we hear when chanting birds are singing to their brood?
Is it you we see in sprouting seeds that soon will give us food?
Is it you who are the beauty that clothes the heav’ns and earth?
Is it you who are the source of life that brings all things to birth?
Is it you who placed the sparkle we see in children’s eyes?
Is it you who live in silent ones who cannot lift their cries?
Is it you we see in those enslaved who long to be set free?
Is it you who are the face of Christ in ev’ryone we see?
